Restaurant Service Awards
New Restaurant of the Year
This award seeks to recognise a food and beverage outlet, that has been in operation for more than a year but less than three years that has consistently provided a standard of excellence and extraordinary dining experiences to diners. The nominee must be from a Singapore-based organisation, or a franchise/branch that is located in Singapore at the time of nomination.

Recipient for 2005

The Cliff
The Sentosa Resort & Spa

Dining at The Cliff is best described as a sensory treat. The combination of a beautiful sunset view and the sound of crashing waves, while pampering your palate with the freshest seafood does not come by everyday. The restaurant's interior, decked with an amalgam of glass, light, stone and water, brings the word 'zen' to a whole new level. But it's really the central kitchen that steals the show. Like a theatre, the central show kitchen entertains its diners with the chefs as the main cast. The predominately seafood menu is prepared under the supervision of chef de cuisine, Shawn Armstrong. The char-grill items on the menu are perfect for those who like the idea of teasing their appetites with sizzling seafood on a nearby grill.

Finalists for 2005

Saint Julien

Housed in the quaint waterboat house at The Fullerton, Singapore, Saint Julien offers French cuisine and excellent service. Headed by Julien Bompard, Saint Julien offers seamless blends of traditional French cuisine and Burgundy mastery, which results in lighter cuisine to complement the warmer climates of Singapore.

My Humble House
Tung Lok Group of Restaurants

Artistic restaurant, My Humble House, is a milestone in Tung Lok's line of restaurants. Boasting the concept of a neo-classic Chinese restaurant with poetic dish names with the likes of 'dancing with the wind' and 'my pleasure', it is a juxtaposition of tradition and avant garde which is truly refreshing. Yet architect, Antonio Eraso, made sure that the cosiness of the atmosphere would not be compromised by emulating the elegance of a private home. In addition, the world's best lighting specialist, Kuro Mende, enables diners to experience three different moods, depending on the time of the day, through the clever use of fibre optics and other light features.

Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar

Italian restaurant, Garibaldi, is a popular and respected landmark along Purvis Street where people gather to socialise, wine and dine. It is distinguished not only for being avant garde, but by being stylish and friendly all at the same time. Using only the finest ingredients imported direct from Italy, insatiable Italian cuisine is served. Garibaldi's bar is also a highlight of the establishment as it serves an extensive selection of wine and cocktails for the after-dark hours of "eat, drink and be merry" mantra.
