World Gourmet Summit 2005 Awards of Excellence - Scholarship
 
The World Gourmet Summit (WGS) Awards of Excellence Scholarships were established for aspiring food & beverage professionals who are eager for self-improvement, personal development and possess the potential to grow in the culinary and food & beverage profession.

For 2005, the three scholarships which will be awarded include a Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Scholarship, a Cacao Barry Pattisserie Scholarship and a Bodegas Torres Wine Scholarship.
 
Recipients of Scholarships for 2005
  Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Scholarship
 
The scholar will have the opportunity to attend a culinary course at Le Cordon Bleu. The course will cover essential topics such as product origins, various cooking techniques, presentation, and theory.

The awarded scholarship will receive:
- Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Course
- return air ticket
- accommodation

  Cacao Barry Patisserie Scholarship  
The scholar will have the opportunity to spend two weeks at Cacao Barry E'Cole in France and at the distinguished Culinary Institute Alain & Marie LeNotre, France. The entire programme will cover various aspects of pastry and dessert making.

The awarded scholar will receive:
- two-week patisserie apprenticeship at Cacao Barry E'Cole, and Culinary Institute Alain & Marie LeNotre, France
- return air ticket
- accommodation

Yang Li Jing

  Bodegas Torres Wine Scholarship  
The scholar will have the opportunity to spend three weeks at the renowned Bodegas Torres Winery in Spain to learn about the intricacies of wine making. The three-week programme will cover topics such as viticulture, yeast study, fermentation, wine making (red and white wines), quality control, sensorial analysis, and aging in oak barrels.

The awarded scholar will receive:
- three-week apprenticeship at Bodegas Torres Winery, Spain
- return air ticket
- accommodation
