As Founder, Kwan is the driving force behind Singapore's at-sunrice Culinary Academy, and very much at its philosophical core. Born in Myanmar, she spent much of her life growing up in Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. After completing her Masters in Mass Communication in America, Kwan's career began in social research. She later joined Frank & Small Associates as director for Market Research, then later as marketing manager with Getz Corporation. Passionate about cuisine and professionally affluent in marketing, Kwan's particular forte is brand building and product development, testaments of which include two brand leaders she's previously conceptualized – SoyaLite, and spice paste Asian Home Gourmet.
