USA Rice Federation (USA Rice) is the global advocate for all segments of the U.S. rice industry. Our mission is to ensure the health and vitality of a unified U.S. rice industry by advocating on behalf of farmers, millers, merchants, and allied businesses.
Rice production has been part of America’s history for more than 300 years. Strict quality control measures throughout the production, processing, storing and shipment of U.S. rice ensures the highest level of food safety, product consistency and reliability. Today, growing rice has become a precise science coupled with knowledge handed down from generation to generation.
Over the past 36 years, U.S. rice farmers have reduced water use by 52%, reduced energy use by 34% and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 41%. All of these results have been achieved while continuing to provide millions of acres of wildlife habitat for migrating waterbirds and other animals.
U.S. rice
Each year, 8 million tonnes of rice are grown and harvested by local farmers in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. The U.S. rice industry is unique in its ability to sustainably produce all types of rice - long, medium and short grain, as well as aromatic and specialty varieties. It is widely imported and available in major retailers in Singapore.
