WEE TENG WEN Managing Partner, The Lo & Behold Group Since 2005, The Lo & Behold Group has conceptualised some of the most distinct and notable hospitality concepts that anchor the Singapore landscape. Wee Teng Wen’s first venture into the industry was with rooftop bar, Loof. A diverse portfolio of 20 venues have ensued since, ranging from a beach club on Sentosa Island, to a 3 Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, and an award-winning boutique hotel nestled on the banks of the Singapore River. In the pursuit of enhancing the local hospitality landscape and making Singapore a more lovable place, Teng continues to lead the development of world-class destinations to shape the Singapore landscape, each concept a timeless institution with its own story to tell and a space to be brought to life.
Overseeing the strategic and business end of the group’s operations, he remains involved in the conceptualisation and branding of every concept, developing with painstaking attention to detail and unparalleled sensitivity to space and design, unique programming and genuine hospitality. It is this holistic approach that allows the group to continue growing its portfolio of some of Singapore’s most beloved and award-winning destinations. The group has been nominated for, and has won several Singapore Tourism Awards, the industry’s highest accolade, and a President’s Design Award. Teng was also awarded the prestigious title of Outstanding Tourism Entrepreneur.
Teng’s philosophy for success is to employ a staff-centric approach in the organization. He strongly believes that it is people who fulfill the experiences of each venue, and strives to attract and retain the best talent in the industry. The Lo & Behold Group is one of the few companies under the Ministry of Manpower’s Human Capital Partnership, which recognizes their commitment to career development and lifelong learning for employees.
Prior to co-founding The Lo & Behold Group, Teng worked as a management consultant at Monitor Group in Boston.
