This award seeks to recognise an individual whose significant contributions over a minimum span of 10 years to the chefs’ profession and has led to the growth of excellence within the Chefs’ careers. This individual has a track record of mentoring other chefs to achieve and reach new heights in their culinary journey as a chef.
Evaluation criteria:
Professionalism: Nominee must be professionally trained and knowledgeable in all facets of culinary operations, from a kitchen’s market list procurements and astringent storage system through to service delivery in the restaurant and the training of younger chefs.
Leadership: The Nominee is a leader who works well with the kitchen and service staff in order to ensure that the quality of the food is upheld and produced in a timely manner. The Nominee is also a keen mentor who is willing to share their knowledge and develop the skills of their subordinates.
Consistency: The Nominee strives to perfect his or her technique and displays a desire to constantly improve and learn.
Commitment to Quality: The Nominee is always committed to seeking out the freshest ingredients available and using the best techniques, so as to provide quality dishes.
