Margaret Heng started working at SHATEC Institutes since 1984, she
started off as an administrator in expenditure but has since branched
out her career in more ways than one. She currently holds the position
of CEO of Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre (SHATEC)
Institutes and under her tutelage; the establishment has become the
school where students learn the best of culinary, hospitality, and service.

Her dedication to the service industry can be seen from her
work outside the Institutes. She serves as the Singapore Hotel
Association as their Executive Director, and was a part of 2012
Singapore Service Excellence Medallion Management Committee.
Ms Heng is concurrently the Executive Director of the
Singapore Hotel Association (SHA). A veteran in the industry
with more than 30 years of hospitality experience, Ms Heng
participates aggressively in many councils and committees.

She was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) Award in
2007 for her service to the National Fire and Civil Emergency
Preparedness Council, and the Public Service Star (BBM) Award
in 2017 for her work with the National Crime Prevention Council.
