To provide for his family, Chef Chan gave up school and worked his way up from doing “everything” in a police station canteen before coming to Singapore in 1982 to seek a brighter future for his new bride. Giving up an offer to work in France with a well-known businessman, Chef Chan established himself as a true master of Chinese cuisine. Working in Hotel InterContinental, Holiday Inn Park View and Pan Pacific Singapore for a total of 20 years, Chef Chan ventured out on his own in 2002. Following a three-year teaching stint, Chef Chan’s restaurant was born. Today, Chef Chan’s restaurant has become a name synonymous with quality Chinese cuisine at its best. |
