At only 16 years of age Gunther Hubrechsen began his professional culinary training at Bruges Culinary Institure Voor Voeding (IVV), Ter Groene Poorte in Belgium. Since 2002 Chef Hubrechsen has been with the Les Amis group and after five years, realised his dream to own his own restaurant when he joined forces with Roberto Galetti to open Gunther’s restaurant in Purvis Street. He has spent his career cultivating his own unique style of cooking as an advocate of ‘natural cuisine’. In 2006 he received the World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence Rising Chef of the Year and is recognised by the awards again this year for his unique culinary style in the gastronomic field.
