Overseas Development Programme
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and A La Carte Productions have collaborated to create an immersive program called the Overseas Development Program (ODP) catered to nurture and hone the skills and knowledge of the past year’s Awards of Excellence (AOE) recipients and finalists.
Apart from providing a cross-cultural experience, the program aims to promote greater awareness of Singapore’s vibrant and innovative food and dining industry professionals. It also creates additional platforms that will assist in recognising Singapore-based award-winning chefs and restaurants through the facilitation and encouragement of Capability Development.
Capability Development
Capability Development is achieved in two ways, via front- and back-of-house operations.
Front-of-House
- Enhance service productivity
- Reduce excess manpower necessities
- Increase service and quality standard
Back-of-House
- Mechanised solutions/automation
- Post-production procurement
- Increasing productivity by implementation of appropriate ‘hardware’ in across various styles of restaurants (i.e. machinery enhancing productivity, POS systems incorporated into tablets, etc.)
