Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Awards:

In 2011, Asian Gastronomic Awards Of Excellence will continue to collaborate with Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to present the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Awards.

Inaugurated in 2008, the WSQ awards are presented to apprentices who demonstrate a high level of passion and enthusiasm for learning as well as to acknowledge companies which champion continuous education and training for their staff. It also recognises practicing chefs who nurture and impart invaluable experience to the next generation of culinary and pastry talents.

In 2010, four new awards were presented to establishments which have demonstrated a high level of excellence and commitment is WSQ training and in supporting the WSQ programme.

“The WSQ award is an ideal platform to honour those who have played a key, yet discreet role in nurturing the potential of the culinary talents in the industry. We don’t just want to recognize those with exceptional skills, but also those who guide, inspire and provide the means for talents to scale greater heights of excellence,” says Peter A Knipp, organiser of World Gourmet Summit.
